Longgameview was born from a quiet realization: you can do everything right — build a career, achieve success, provide, lead — and still feel that something essential is missing.
At some point, success stops being the answer, and life begins to ask better questions.
This space exists for that moment.
Longgameview is a place for reflection on purpose, meaning, reinvention, and what it truly means to live a well-lived life — especially in the second half of life, when experience is no longer the goal, but the foundation.
A DIFFERENT KIND OF SUCCESS
For years, we are taught to pursue achievement.
We learn discipline.
We learn responsibility.
We learn how to win.
But very few of us are taught how to live.
Longgameview explores the difference between success and a well-lived life — not by rejecting achievement, but by placing it in its proper context.
Because success builds a path.
But meaning gives it direction.
ABOUT THE AUTHOR
Long Game View is written by N. K. Kage, a Brazilian veteran colonel (Police Officer) with over three decades of service in the São Paulo Military Police.

After 33 years of a disciplined and structured career, I reached the highest rank: Colonel.
It was the kind of success many spend a lifetime pursuing.
And yet, at the peak, a simple question emerged:
What comes next?
Rather than settling into comfort, I chose transition.
I retired from military service and entered the corporate world, taking on new challenges and expanding his perspective on leadership, work, and life beyond structure.
Today, I write and reflect on:
- purpose and meaning
- reinvention and transition
- discipline and inner life
- time, mortality, and the long view of living
I can say that my work is not theoretical.
It is shaped by experience — by years of leadership, responsibility, and the quiet moment when success is no longer enough.
WHO THIS IS FOR
This is not a space for those just starting out.
It is for those who have already lived.
For people who:
- have built something, but feel the need for something deeper
- are navigating transition, change, or midlife questions
- seek clarity, purpose, and a more intentional way of living
- understand that time matters — and want to use it well
If you have ever asked yourself whether you are truly living — or simply moving forward —you are in the right place.
WHAT YOU WILL FIND HERE
- reflections on life, time, and meaning
- essays on purpose and personal growth
- thoughts on leadership, discipline, and transition
- a quieter perspective on success, fulfillment, and direction
There are no formulas here. No quick fixes. Only clarity — built slowly.
THE LONG VIEW
Life is not a short sprint.
It is a long game.
And the question is not only how far you go — but how you live along the way.
FINAL THOUGHT
At some point, every life arrives at the same crossroads:
Continue as you are… or begin again with awareness.
Long Game View exists for those who choose the second.
